Incorporating Technology into the Business–Gazette
Yesterday I bought a "basic" Quickbooks program at Walmart for $90. I am stalling on installing it because I need to clean the desk-top machinery and cables, etc. I still need to install my dvd-writer. I am also getting intimidated by the video equipment projects. I am disappointed in myself that I haven't taken the opportunity to progress in my skills so that I would feel more confident to do the Smitty's July 8th race “sponsor recruiting promo video.” I need to do better.
Yesterday, I also bought a real, real cheap Printshop program on sale for $10. It seems to have some decent things to make professional "do-it-myself" forms, letters, cards, and other materials. I thought it was a good buy.
I have been contemplating ways to better use "globalization technology" to help my business. I have decided to be more active on my blog, and more flexible and creative (and less cluttered) on www.cepiaclub.com. Like Smitty said about the Liberty blog last year, I might be able to "drive" it into getting at least some attention from a small audience. I figure with 700 million internet users world-wide, and a lott of those comprehending our language, I should be able to 10 or 12 people--somewhere in this whole world--to visit the site and blog. From those small beginnings growth in visibility and inevitably in sales would mount, shouldn't they? I need to do a much better job at selling the site. I think I will work on some creative ways to get it noticed, registered, or looked at. After all, by sheer percentages, the more people who visit my site might also check out the other links on the "Club Friends" page.
I am bound and set to try and at least sell one T-shirt this month. Salesmanship is my downfall. I don't think I am all that different from other new entrepreneurs. If I can get over the personal confidence hurdle, I might inspire some sales. If I'm not inspired to sell the very good things (I think) I have to offer, no one else would be very enthusiastic about doing it. If I lead, maybe the nodes in the "FOT" (friends of Tim) network will follow.
I’m making progress on the Strategy Gazette. At least I got a long book review done on a Franklin bio-history. I also have another article ready to paste into it on the FairTax. I also plan on including my thoughts on the Iran nuclear research issue. My hurdle in the whole project is being too intimidated by the grand ideas I am trying to explain in the Libertarian Internationalism article. I think I am psyching myself out with too much pressure to be perfect and profound. I have to lower my expectations of what I want to accomplish with the article and the Gazette in general.
